Ad Hoc Groups

Ad Hoc Groups

The Budget Model Redesign (BMR) project has established a series of ad hoc groups to deep dive specific topics of interest.

The Ad Hoc Committee on Space was asked to consider models that might be developed to better optimize space—including the cost and charges for space, optimizing classroom usage, and any key policies that might be needed. The Ad Hoc Committee on Sponsored Research is considering ways in which the budget model can incentivize sponsored research activities (federal, state and other); how we might address funding of research infrastructure that ensures a culture of shared responsibility; and to propose methods for adapting the budget model to handle potential changes in indirect cost recovery. Finally, the Ad Hoc Committee on Teaching & Learning Innovation is examining the full breadth of MSU’s non-degree, non-credit offerings to consider financial models that support the growth and sustainability of these options.
