The Budget Model Redesign (BMR) project launched on September 30, 2025, furthering the university’s progress in the third phase of our financial transformation plan: creating a sustainable model. This initiative will prioritize the development of a budget model that emphasizes clear resource allocation, predictability for unit leaders, financial stewardship, and incentives aligned with MSU's mission and values.
To facilitate the redesign process, we have devised a comprehensive engagement strategy that will involve the campus community. This strategy encompasses the establishment of a Steering Committee and a Working Group, alongside ad hoc groups to study specific topics. Representation in each group is designed to include diverse perspectives, needs, and opportunities.
